James L. Hamner Public Library
The Friendly Bookshop is located on Virginia Street and Court Street, diagonally from the court house, in the same building as the foot nurse and the barber.
Please contact the Friends for information on memorial and donor leaves and bricks.
Book donations are accepted at the Friendly Bookshop. We are only able to accept books in good condition. Donated items become the property of the Friends of the Library. Neither the Friends nor the staff at the library can provide values for donated items.
Ideas for other places to contact about donating books in good condition are: churches, nursing homes, hospitals, thrift stores, or places similar to Edna's Place.
Damaged or worn hardbacks can be recycled if the cover is removed. Paperbacks can be recycled as is.
